Archive for the “Random” CategoryPlease mail us if a blog linked on milkboys is offline or if you have a blog and wish to be linked here (preferably about teenage boys and non-commercial). Please be advised that we don’t link blogs hosted at Blogger / Blogspot anymore due to their policy of deleting queer blogs. Markus was in Cologne, where I lived a few years, and made some nice photos :) But all the sightseeing aside I liked the shots below. The locks are left by (mostly gay) couples after throwing the key into the river. This symbolic act represents the endless love and relationship. Special Thanks to PinkNeptune ~ She found most of the Cuties above <3 First of all I’d like to thank everyone who has donated lately. The ads are not working out so well anymore since ad companies like AdBrite, AdSense & Co. are cutting revenues all the time – we went down to about $20 a month of which I have to pay $15 fees just to my bank to get a US check paid out. That’s why I will disable the text ads as soon as we have reached the minimum pay out sum for this month. But it’s great to know that we can still pay for the server with your donations, so feel appreciated for that! <3
Besides that: My birthday is coming up and the attention whore I am I’d like get something from all of you: Attention of course ;) 200 followers at Twitter in particular. I’m at 155 at the moment so that should be doable until August 1st, which is my birthday. Even better would be if you don’t just follow me but also tweet yourself. I’d love to get to know you guys better and Twitter is a pretty entertaining way to do so. And while you’re at it: milkboys is on Twitter too. Post your twitter in the comments if you have one already, kthx.
Speaking of attention whores: Infamous 12chan predator and victim in personal union and notorious necro boy HeavyMetalHarry was entertaining the milkchat with a quite neat web cam performance. You missed his hot body? Well, in that case you should check milkboys more often ;) T.A.Z. (Temporary Autonomous Zone) posts pop up here every now and then announcing such things and disappear again pretty soon. His show didn’t last long ‘tho since Stickam (which is ironically made by a porn company) seems to have the same standards as Tumblr: Little girls getting raped are perfectly fine but a shirtless teen boy rings in the hell on earth. It took just a few minutes until someone flagged him because he dared to wear just his underwear and a while later an admin from Stickam was there to kick lil Harry’s ass. Oh, well.
I guess the guy running Nibblebit, a new blog hosting service running the WordPress multi user engine, was hoping for some free PR when he mailed me about his new service and the first blogs hosted there are popping up already, so here we go. Nibblebit is pretty much the same as WordPress.com as for the technical aspect. There are a few differences worth noticing ‘tho. For example: It allows “adult” content The downsides? It’s clearly there to bring in cash. Nothing wrong with that of course but before you dump your current blog you should be aware of the fact that ads are shown on top of free blogs hosted at Nibblebit and some features are “Premium”, which means you have to pay for your account to get them. Besides that I have no clue who runs this, if their server is reliable, how long the whole project will live on and where they draw the line when it comes to deciding which content is really allowed there (their only statement on this is “it should be legal” – whatever that means). But if you feel like making a picture blog you might wanna give them a try.
Tried their service? Share your experiences in the comments. If you’re looking for a place for your personal blog you could also get one at milkblogs, just in case you prefer name.milkboys.org over name.nibblebit.com ;)
I don’t write this to piss people off, no bad feelings ok? ;) But, to be honest, it annoys me a bit that some boybloggers are thinking it’s a good idea to tag the images they post with a watermark. That’s something that is perfectly fine if you’re the photographer who made the picture or the model on it but why do you think you should spoil and deface a good image by putting your big tag on it if you were not involved in the making of it? I do tag some photos too but only if they are explicitly made for this blog like the photos from Joe. But what’s the point of tagging something you just found somewhere else, something that doesn’t belong to you in any way?
I mean, you know it’s too much if you can’t see the boy under the tag like here. It’s getting funny when one tag is getting is black-washed to add another one *sigh* So, please: leave Like I said: No bad feelings, just sayin’ ;) There is absolutely no need to read this, just skip it if you don’t care about personal, non-boys stuff ;) We were talking about who we are in the milkboard. I was Wiccan when I was about 13 or 14 (Boring Atheist nowadays) and it actually feels good to think back… it just makes sense to depersonalize the goddess into the nature ’cause that’s pretty much what keeps us alive, what we should respect. Well, even if it’s sounds like the typically horny teen: Yes, I enjoyed the "sit naked in the grass with your friends" thingy too ;p Didn’t happen often ‘tho since they were not that much into Wicca even if some of them where pretty eclectic hippie kids *aww* OK, I better don’t get en detail here. It just sucks that there is no place to share more private things with people you trust. Yeah, there is LiveJournal etc. but these services are way to complicated for just sharing a few ideas, memories & the dream you had last night. Tumblr (Oh, I got one by the way!) should add such a "friends only post" feature, I’ll just ask them about it.
[Most likely the design of my next CC] You never know… it was a great experience for me to see that some companies are actually listening to their customers – that might be normal for people living in the US where service isn’t just an euphemism for "we don’t care if you die as long as you keep buying our product" …that’s how it works in Germany mostly. The first time I felt that difference was when I switched from my German hoster to Naked Hosting in the US with milkboys. German hoster: No mail support, no ticket system, all-day-harshly tech supporters who took their time to drink a coffee or two before they even considered doing anything for you. US hoster: 24/7 live chat support, mails getting answered in minutes regardless when and about what you contact them and the people there are really, really friendly – such a shock for a German customer! xD Encouraged by that experience I put my focus on some software I use every day and finally submitted all the bugs I have to deal with so often. And you know what? Most companies where indeed thankful, I got a nice personal reply and the notice that my bug was assigned to an employee from companies like KlipfFolio, Digsby, WordPress and Microsoft (!!!) :) Talking about Software: It’s a bit random but I feel like sharing some web apps I use with you, dunno why, don’t ask ;p For everyone: Twitter – Let your friends know what you’re doing. (add milkboys) For webmasters & bloggers: Who Is Hosting This? – Want to use the same hoster as another blog? Find out which it is. From the series: Kyle explains the world ;o)
Ok I can tell some of you don’t understand some things about how teenagers think so I’m here to help. You know that “Content Warning” thing that comes up before some blogs? Or you ever see those warnings on some sites that are like the one I put up on this blog? Adults Only Keep Out Or You Will Die etc? Well the meaning of that may seem clear to you but please be aware that to just about everyone I know who is say 13 to 17, what those warnings are very clearly saying is OMG!! CLICK HERE NOW!!! I hope this helps.
