Tony Duvert, the most infamous French gay writer since Jean Genet, died in July this year.

Dennis Cooper made an extensive blog post about Duvert with “two exclusive excerpts and a jumble of almost everything I could find online either by or about him in English” so don’t miss that one!

In their ever continuing battle to free the Internet, The Pirate Bay has now launched an uncensored blogging service, called BayWords. The service is intended to be a safe haven for bloggers who want to be able to write whatever they want, without being afraid to get shut down by their blog host. The new service is powered by WordPress, and although it doesn’t a full set of features to compete with existing players (like domain redirects) the Pirate Bay team said that they’d add additional features later. Blogs on the service are currently ad free, but will have advertising in the future.
We’re proud to present a new service – baywords.com. Because of the need of freedom of speech and secure hosting facility of the words being said we could not agree to how people behave towards bloggers. Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don’t break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it.
So if you’re looking for a free speech blogging service – give them a try. Unfortunately you get only 100 MB webspace, too less for milkboys, but that should be ok for a normal blog if you can outsource your pictures to flickr or a similar service.

If Blogger turned your blog down like so many queer blogs before and you want back the photos you have uploaded there check out your albums on Picasa Web. Kollioster, who made the great intoboys blog before it was shut down, told me that he found all his uploaded photos from intoboys there. So it’s worth a try.
