What happened so far?

Some of you might have noticed that Nibblebit — which was the hope of all the bloggers who saw their blogs getting deleted by Blogger/Blogspot, Tumblr and even SensualWriter – started to reject blogs with even G-rated pictures of teenagers. Here is what happened: Someone filed a complaint about a blog hosted at Nibblebit which contained child porn (while that can be a fully dressed 17 year old in a “suggestive pose” nowadays) with Nibblebit’s hosting company which caused the latter to suspend Nibblebit’s server affecting not only the blog in question but all blogs hosted by Nibblebit. Nibblebit switched to another hosting company and while they were not able to recover the data of the old blogs most bloggers there restarted their blogs just to find out that Nibblebit doesn’t allow them to run boy-related blogs anymore.

I’m not sure if that leaves Nibblebit with any blogs at all since pretty much all of them where blogs about boys in one way or another. But however, personally I won’t miss Nibblebit: The service was always full of annoying ads and I even read quite a few reports about people who got a virus through the obviously not so well checked ads there. The more interesting question here is where the now homeless bloggers will end up. At least the ones who are not silly enough to try to open such blogs at Blogger/Blogspot over and over again will have to find a new place to host their blogs eventually. Read on...

What now?

People asked me if I’m willing to host some of the former Nibblebit blogs but as much as I wish i could there answer here has to be no. I share the views of most of you who think that the laws about what “child porn” is nowadays (see above) are totally bizarre and just wrong but I can’t change these laws and have to live with them. Many of the blogs at Nibblebit were pretty lax about photos of naked teens. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate any anarchistic twist around the laws Christian fundamentalists are forcing upon us but to be completely honest with you… I don’t really believe that most of the bloggers posted these boy dicks as a fuck you to the governments and obedient industry but just because some of them didn’t realise yet that we don’t live in the 70’s anymore where naked 14 year olds were a usual sight in mainstream gay magazines. And I don’t really want to put the milkboys server at any risk by hosting blogs with such sensitive content – especially considering the fact that this server is paid with donations of faithful community members. This would be just unfair towards them, don’t you think?

The future

So, where should you go if you want to run a picture blog about boys? There is no easy answer here. While it was never easy to get away with such a blog at services like WordPress.com or Tumblr it’s getting actually worse recently. Blogger even started to remove plain gay blogs who had not a single picture of anyone who looks even remotely close to being underage. This is where we’re heading. Our Western societies are becoming more and more hysterical about everything related to sex and this will make it even harder to blog about a topic that might be related to sex or can potentially get connected to this subject by others. Parents in the UK are not allowed to watch their children at the playground anymore because they are seen as potential child molesters and you think you can blog about teen boys without getting accused of being a rapist? Ha.

The last chance I see right now is The Pirate Bay. They have a blogging service called BayWords which claims to be open to everyone whatever they want to blog about as long as it is legal. Now The Pirate Bay guys are known for having another definition of legal than our governments so you might actually be able to run and, most importantly, keep your blog there if you don’t turn it into a pedo haven (just don’t post photos of little Russian boy “models” in underwear, that’s downright disgusting anyways). But of course there are downsides: 1. You get only 100 MB webspace for your blog which means you will have to host your photos somewhere else eventually. And you don’t even wanna try to host pictures of boys on crappy sites like PhotoBucket, TinyPic or ImageShack, they get deleted before you can shout “But these pics are perfectly legal!” (they don’t care). There is a Pirate Bay service for this too – but BayImg isn’t really famous for its reliability. And 2. you never know how long one of the many side projects of The Pirate Bay stays alive. They are in legal trouble all the time and no one knows how long they can fight back as successful as they do at the moment.

I don’t know about any boy blogs at BayWords yet so if you should decide to try them you are welcome to share your experiences in the milkboard. Feel also free to add any suggestions or views on the topics in the comments below.

Consider two young people, confused by their own budding sexuality, curious as to the dynamics of sex, terrified by it, but drawn to it anyway. Nature, or God, if you prefer, built the human body so that that the young are flooded with hormones that inspire lust and a need for release. Perhaps the mind is not ready to grasp what is happening, but the body demands it. At the very least, it is NOT very intelligent design. But it is what it is. Wishing won’t make it different. These two young people seek some seclusion. “I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours.” Nervous hands unzip zippers. Tentative touching, complete silence as they forget to even breathe. A door suddenly opens. They try to cover up. They don’t understand why they did it or what it means. That is part of what they were trying to figure out. Something from deep within compelled them to seek something they didn’t understand.

Nature, or God if you insist, endowed the human species with a body that floods these young people with hormones, creating desires they don’t comprehend. Perhaps they are too young to fully understand. At the very least imposing such a burden on those so young indicates a total lack of intelligent design when it comes to human sexuality. A stern talking-to, perhaps going to bed without supper, or wise parental advice is how previous, less terrified, generations handled this.

But that was before we let the special interest groups and politicians terrorize us about the “threat to our children.” Since then we have passed hundreds of ill-conceived pieces of legislation “to protect our children.” Now we are sacrificing our children on the very political altars that we helped build.

What was once considering a normal rite of passage, typical curiosity that the newly sexualized young have about themselves, their bodies, and the bodies of others, has become a heinous crime. Not long ago a curious adolescent or child, caught exploring, or playing doctor in the back yard, was given a talking-to, sent to bed early, and warned to not do it again — a warning most heeded for at least another few years, after which time warnings were useless. Today, it has been criminalized, and criminalized in a way far exceeding crimes of violence. A youth who has sex with another youth, even if voluntary, could well face legal sentences far worse than if they had killed their friend.

Please read the whole article at Classically Liberal.
I for one think it’s kinda sad that even the author of the good and much needed article above thinks sending kids to bed without supper is a proper way to handle such situations. Not so long ago European parental guides suggested to let kids do whatever they want to do when it comes to sexuality because everything else would let them get the impression that sex is something bad and dirty.

It looks like all blogs hosted on Nibblebit are gone for good. Here’s what they posted about the situation:

There seems to be some confusion. WE(NibbleBit) DID NOT remove any blogs. The company who hosts the NibbleBit servers recieved a complaint. The server was suspended. We have no access to the server or the backups. This is why the blogs are gone. We DO NOT condone child pornography. The hosting company recieved a complaint that NibbleBit was showing a blog, which they believe was showing child pornography. This is ILLEGAL and against our Terms Of Service. Due to this fact we are unable to recover backups. We will now keep daily backups offsite, with other providers to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We encourage visitors of blogs to report any innapropriate material using the report a blog page. Reports will be dealt with promptly. NibbleBit will now operate a ZERO tolerance on illegal materials, so please make sure that any adult content is 18 years +. For a limited time signups will recieve UNLIMITED BLOG SPACE.

UPDATE: I have removed all Nibblebit blogs from the link list in the sidebar which seem to be completely dead. If you’re the owner of one of them and planning to bring your blog back feel free to contact us once your blog is back up to get added back to the list.

Oh boy, I just read a column by Canadian author Cory Doctorow. He got a shitstorm of anger from teachers, students, parents, and librarians because he dared to write about a 17 year old boy having sex and drinking a beer. I really should know better by now but still… the fact how things like this are handled in North America never fails to amaze me. I know half of you guys stop reading here because you know what awaits you but that’s ok. Yes, I’m a smug eurofag and no, I can’t stop bashing North American countries for being so hypocritical, unprogressive and fucked up. So let’s make it short here: I know there are many people living in the US and Canada who are upset about this stuff just like I am. So if you’re a teenager and can’t stand the Christian censor machine who’s trying to control what you can read and think: Go and get some Youth lit from Europe. No matter if it’s Swedish, French, Dutch or German, many (sadly not all) of the great coming of age books released here are getting translated sooner or later and I never stumbled upon one that doesn’t have sex scenes ;)

My first young adult novel, Little Brother, tells the story of a kid named Marcus Yallow who forms a guerilla army of young people dedicated to the reformation of the US government by any means necessary. He and his friends use cryptography and other technology to subvert security measures, to distribute revolutionary literature, to liberate and publish secret governmental memoes, and humiliate government officials. Every chapter includes some kind of how-to guide for accomplishing this kind of thing on your own, from tips on disabling radio-frequency ID tags to beating biometric identity system to defeating the censorware used by your school network to control what kind of things you can and can’t see on the Internet. The book is a long hymn to personal liberty, free speech, the people’s right to question and even overthrow their government, even during wartime.

Marcus is 17, and the book is intended to be read by young teens or even precocious tweens (as well as adults). Naturally, I anticipated that some of the politics and technology in the story would upset my readers. And it’s true, a few of the reviewers were critical of this stuff. But not many, not overly so. What I didn’t expect was that I would receive a torrent of correspondence and entreaties from teachers, students, parents, and librarians who were angry, worried, or upset that Marcus loses his virginity about two-thirds of the way through the book (secondarily, some of them were also offended by the fact that Marcus drinks a beer at one point, and a smaller minority wanted to know why and how Marcus could get away with talking back to his elders).

Now that’s amazing! Our very own Zensursula (Ursula von der Leyen, German Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and infamous amongst the German public for her desperate try to censor the internet) has indexed the new Rammstein album “Liebe is für alle da” (Love is for everyone), meaning that the album cannot be sold to minors and cannot be stocked on store shelves. The album will now only be made available for purchase behind the counter at shops that still carry the CD. Word is that the tracks "Ich tu dir weh" and "Pussy" along with some promotional imagery featuring guitarist Richard Kruspe spanking a female were cause of the ban.

“Ich tu dir weh” is a song about S/M and the joys of giving and receiving pain for sexual sensation (find the song above and the lyrics (German & English) here) and the title “Pussy”, which was banned because it apparently advocates unsafe sex in the times of AIDS is in actual fact a song against sex tourism in third world countries. Some politicians obviously still think teenagers need Rock Music to hear about the evil force called sex. Oh, well…

Go, buy the album! It’s fucking amazing anyways!
