The Boy

Yeah the 1950s were. I liked the 1960s. Still very hard for gays, and I remember being afraid my parents would catch me. They did. Several times. And yet individuals were oddly supportive, understanding and kind. My greatest prayer was for all people to be free to love and be themselves. In the 1970s I honestly thought we were on the verge and then the 1980s hit. The terribly irony is that as the rise of religious conservatism began to really take hold, AIDS was doing what kindness, understanding and compassion could not. It started to tear open the way for some acceptance as so many young men and old died horrible deaths.

Sorry. I would go back to the 1960s for all of its terrible international and national events because I remember the days of my youth in the woods of Missouri first touching and being touched. Definitely a rose coloured vision but so haunting.

Yes he is lovely. Just the type of boy I tried to make friends with, to be close. <3
