For the record, the shots here from the Rock and Rodeo shoot are intentionally cissy – that’s how the customer and the photographer wanted them. I don’t think there’s anything even remotely cissy about the B&W shots also shown here. Tait is a professional model and, like any angel, he can appear in any form he is asked to – it’s his job, isn’t it? I’m jealous too, btw.

Rock and Rodeo is a swank Beverly Hills fashion shop specializing in rather OTT sixties and seventies-style rock chic. I think the choice of model and photographer was inspired, but I’m not quite sure by what. Maybe they liked him because he combined the stick thin anorexic look of a catwalk girl with the androgyny of a glam rock star, in a way that no girl could.

Elsewhere, baffled commentators on the fashion industry have said many times that size 0 models starve themselves to look like boys. Here Tait takes this to its logical conclusion: he achieves a pearly-flat chest without the cruelty of starvation, and a sweet package without having to pad his crotch. Wouldn’t it be cool if all women’s fashions were modelled by boys?
