I’m Bi have a girlfriend but am leaning towards gay I love this site both because it can be sexual yet it also shows the artistic side of the young male body I’m sixteen and like this site I know a kid who is completely straight he is my best friend yet he likes this site he doesn’t get any sexual arousal out of it but he likes to read the articles and see the cinima reviews my personal favorite part is the “whole new thing” section under cinema it’s nothing sexual I just can relate to that movie and like to read what others think of it.

Interestingly, in the UK there is also an adult networking site principally for ‘lads’ and the majority on there describe themselves as ‘Bisexual’.

‘Gay’ was a political and mutual-support movement in the 1980s. To be fully signed up, you had to be far-left socialist, ideologically promiscuous, and into weird sex and weird clothes: otherwise the leaders would snear at you for being “straight acting”. The gay movement claimed the word homosexual for its own.

That movement was important for a while. It created a political splash. It provided mutual support. But I never felt at home in it. I still find it impossible to say in public that I’m gay or homosexual and feel comfortable about it. Those words just don’t describe me.

I’m more than happy to say “this is my partner N”, who is clearly male, like me.

If I were single I’d be more than happy to say “I’m probably looking for a *man*, actually … or a nice boy, haha.”

But “gay” or “homosexual”? Keep your labels.

The politics is changing too. In the 1980s it was all about an oppressed minority, born that way, who couldn’t help the way they were, and needed the straight world’s generous tolerance of their sickness, to allow them to do their naughty things together in private.

Sod that!

I want to assert the right of *everyone* to shag whomsoever they will (consensually and not *too* publicly). Shagging (or marrying) a same sex partner is as valid a life choice as any other, and in many ways better (make your own list of reasons…).

Contemporary british teens (and, in my over-hearing, preteens as well) *get this*. Gay and Str8 are *so* last century, *so* uncool … self-limiting and kinda *sexist*. Bi is cool, the universal assumption. Anyone who isn’t totally bi needs to be a little bit embarrassed about it.

OK, I answered your survey. I put homosexual (grumbles). But really I’m bisexual: I like *men* and *boys*.

doug - a pansexual is a person who is sexually interested in other people regardless of sex or gender, and anthrosexuality is being sexually attracted to humans, again regardless of sex or gender.

Personally I prefer the term queer.

a (gay) friend of mine once argued, that the sudden interest of hetero-oriented ppl in homoerotic beauty (or: beauty observed from a homoerotic point of view) is an ambivalent thing. on one hand, it recognizes this beauty and brings ppl more together, regardless of sexual orientation (what we all here have in common is the acknowledgement of the beauty of the shown pics / vids.). but on the other hand, it kind of trivializes gay attraction. it makes it a “common thing”, something anyone can enjoy in the same way, which - according to my buddy - makes it annoying. it’s that idea, that spawns opinions like “homosexuality is a lifestlye/a way of living/a culture” - basically something you “endorse” for intellectual/fun reasons, instead of a sexual orientation determined by unknown circumstances, a biological thing noone can change.

p.s.: i voted pansexual. you, Josh, must have meant it to include non-human entities as well (otherwise, it would be identical in meaning to “anthrosexual”) my imagination runs wild; “my god, such a beautiful.. house! look at that sassy chimney..” ;D

Milkboys is somewhat unique in that, as far as I can discern, the focus is actually more on aesthetic than sexuality, which allows and even invites girls and heterosexual men (and, yes, aliens) to appreciate the content here. I’m glad that we can all feel at home with the diversity that is present and not be hammering up virtual “No Girls Allowed” signs. We’re fortunate to have such an outstanding “museum” of boyhood beauty.

I’m not sure if I understand the distinction between aesthetic and beautiful. Appreciation of the naked young male body is not dependant on the gender or sexual preference of the beholder. Most everybody thinks Michaelangelo’s David is a masterpiece. What we do and how we respond because of that appreciation might be conditioned by our backgrounds, but that shouldn’t keep you from expressing your appreciation Louis. SO comment to your heart’s content.

i’m hetero, and i stay out of aesthetical reasons. if that’s okay - i can imagine it to be kind of annoying, if someone non-gay always points out “my, that’s SO aesthetical!”, while you gays find it beautiful and arousing.
