Yeah there is some scum out there. And before the internet, you could buy child porn through the mail with far less worry than you can download it on the internet today. And you could buy it from under the counter at porn shops too. No problem. But people have a right to privacy. People have a right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. If you take away everything that is good and decent in the world just because there are some bad people, then it's *ALL* bad. Like China and Iran. Living like they do is worse than having a smidget of child porn amidst all of the good stuff. Far worse.

There is a huge scam going on. People are being lef to believe that there is some kind of epidemic, that things are getting bad. NOT SO! In the U.S., the rape rate has declined by 83% since 1973, and child sexual abuse has declined by over 50% since 1994. THAT'S MORE THAN HALF!

["Child sexual abuse cases nationwide declined 5 percent from 2005 to 2006, capping a 14-year decline of more than 50 percent, according to an analysis of new data released by the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire".]

Children are far safer than they have ever been.

As for the Pirate Bay VPN. Are you kidding? I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. Maybe Metropipe or Perfect Privacy. But Xerobank is light years above the rest.

That's the normal speed with Cable for € 22 per month (phone and internet flatrate included). They can switch to 300 Mbs any time, they just don't see a need to do so yet 'cause DSL is still way slower :(

Apropos: At night when less people are online IPREDator got as fast as 8 Mbit (1 MB/sec) for me :)

You get 32Mbs in germany? Is that typical or do you have a business class account? I know the US is WAAAAAY behind the rest of the world for consumer speeds (I get 8Mbs). How much (in USD) do you pay for that 32Mbs?

I'm so jealous-- I can't get anything higher than 8Mbs in my home. Ive tried hetting the 16Mbs business class but they wont put it in a residence.

You're right, they're Swedish. When I looked them up a year ago they had servers in the UK but seems like they have moved them.

As for logging: Sweden requires ISP's to keep connections logs. On the Relakks site they clearly tell you they will hand over your traffic data to the authorities if they "prove beyond reasonable doubt that they have a case for demanding subscription information from RELAKKS".

Is 12chan down at the moment? Like it wont even let me do the password anymore- perhaps the government of Australia blacklisted it?

Well, considering that pictures of shirtless boys are now contraband, this service seems really cool. I feel kinda like a crook using it tho. :/

The boy is adorable.

That's because TOR runs through Swedish providers, IPREDator does not. 12chan works with it.

Why the heck should I use a swedish IP address? The very single only time I saw a (swedish) CP-stop-sign was when I got a swedish tor exit node while I tried to access 12chan -- clicked in tor on "get new identity" and continued surfing with another IP address.
