Absolument merveilleux! J’ai adoré. On ne peut quitter; et ce très beau garçon, il m’a rappelé L’enfant sauvage de Truffeault. Non? Plein de poésie. Marvelous! I simply loved it. One can.t leave the screen. The boy, so cute! reminded me of Truffealt’s L’enfant sauvage. Many thnaks, Claude
Samuel Benchetrit is a french writer and movie maker. He is the former husband of Marie Trintignant, killed by singer Bertrand Cantat from Noir Désir. May be Jules is their son…
I saw this was posted earlier, but I didn’t get the chance to watch it till now. And yes, Jules Benchetrit (11-year-old son of the filmmaker) is sweet and romantic.
I wish real life was as beautiful and poetic as this. :-)
Does anyone know the piece of music at the very start? Is it original or pre-existing? It seems Mozart-esque, although it’s almost too dark for him. And there’s an aspect of Beethoven in it, but the string composition doesn’t seem to fit for him.
The music is an excerpt from the beginning of Beethoven’s “Coriolan” Ouverture. The play is about the Roman general Coriolanus, and the music is thought to dramatize the protagonist’s personality.
1. 7Zip 904 worked where 465 did not. Thanks, Josh.
1. it is a sweet, romantic story. I can see that a sensitive 11yo boy would put those things together and help jump-start a langushing romance, both his own and a never-met couple. Excellent.

I loved the way his eyes went wide when he realized it was Melinda on the phone.
What a wonderfully done character portrait of a beautiful, sweet, romantic boy.

I’ve watched some of it, and it’s adorable. He explores just as I would have, I think, but acts out movie parts that I would not have.
I tried downloading the file, but I get “unsupported compression method” error from 7zip. Any ideas?
Works for me with 7zip 9.04
try http://files.milkboys.se/jules.mp4
it works for me…
That’s the standard def version, the download links contains a high def version of the video.
Quite a nice piece, Josh. Merci beaucoup.

Anyone?

He reminds me of Johnny Depp, from Benny & Joon… Sooo adorable.
This was the kind of French film short that I fell in love with, when I was about Jules age…

I can’t find 904, only 465. Where would I get it? And winrar doesn’t work either.
Josh, you rather take this vid w/Jules off, since he is only 11, no legal age in any country! No bad blood though. Propz Pilgrim
i wish it was my room key he found ,he may be 11 but he’s awesome
@Pilgrim.
Last time I checked, watching a video of an 11-year-old walking around a hotel room is not a legal matter.
This was shot for a fashion company. They’ll be showing it to crowds around the world.
It’s YSL’s :3
ah, that’s beautiful!!
F.y.i., this short movie and the stills of it are highly discussed in the french scéne de vogue, simply because of Jules´age.
Great film! I’m interested in the short film “The Reader” Know where I might find it?
This is so beautifully made; ans so romantic! Love it! Love it! Love it! Many, many thanks fot posting such a great piece. Claude
And what do they say in these discussions, pilgrim?
