Yahoo Mail decided to put milkboys (and other blogs like So many Boys) on a blacklist for some reason. I don’t know why they want to block a perfectly legal site but there’s nothing I can do about it — Yahoo Mail users won’t get mails from milkboys or with a link to milkboys in it anymore!

I don’t say you have to dump your address completely but at least for milkboys it won’t work anymore. If you don’t have a 2nd address you could sign up at Gmail. It offers 7 GB of space for your mails, 20 MB attachments (Yahoo wants money for that!), a better interface, it doesn’t put ads below your mails and you can import your mails and contacts from Yahoo.

Anyway, if you don’t want to manage two accounts, just make your yahoo mail be fowarded to gmail, there are some short tutorials of how to make this without having to pay yahoo for a premium account

wow that’s crazy! who uses yahoo mail anyway? gmail ftw!

  6. I found Yahoo mail like AOL and Hotmail to be spam infested. Haven’t had any spam issues with Gmail. Any thoughts on Google Chrome?

Milkboys is not the only blog blocked by Yahoo mail. I’ve sent a link to a quite decent picture from ragazzi to a friend who is using Yahoo and the mail has been returned to me saying it was rejected for policies reasons.

Better tell Uncle Sidney about all this Josh. He is still using a Yahoo address!
Thanks for the warning about Yahoo. Yeah, hotmail is a bunch of garbage too!
Ditto for AOL, a real laughing stock!

Yahoo bends over and gives the government anything they want. No questions. They open their records to anyone. AOl is shaky too. Never trust them with personal information.

    1998/ AOL:
The United States Navy say a sailor will be discharged for “Homosexual Conduct Admittance” because he typed the word “gay” on his member profile under “Marital Status.”

A military investigator called AOL and said he wanted to find out the identity of the person who had sent him a fax belonging to a screen name. Without identifying himself, he said an employee named “Owen” revealed the name of the account owner along with his state of residence, according to transcripts of sworn military testimony provided by defense advocates.

Google has refused the governments requests for records many times. Nice to see someone has balls out there.

Till they hurried to establish internet censorship in China. But that’s not a democracy, anyway. (Sorry, only teasing). BTW isn’t gmail difficult with regard to their collectormania? Is it true they keep “backups” even after accounts have been deleted? Not very trustworthy in my eyes.

I use to use Gmail but it’s a bit of a mess compared to Hotmail (and google talk is a bit of a joke as an IM service). I use windows live for pretty much everything now. It’s like my online hub, and I really like it. Yahoo isn’t as great but I am surprised about this news. And I am a little dissapointed in them..

They wanted to get into the Chinese market so they made concessions. But they are in. I have used computers from behind internet filters and block access walls, and found a way to bypass protocols. The Chinese will to. Chinese just broke into the US Military computers systems via the internet and snatched information on a 3 Trillion Dollar fighter jet. Pentagon mentioned it has a hint that it was the business sector who did it. The Chinese manufactures wants to know how to tool their factories and services to gain leverage in obtaining government contract in the months or years ahead. I don’t worry about Chinese Communist. I worry about their public business practices.

Nothing messes up Communism like Capitalism. Once you let the people make money, the control shifts. The same thing is going to happen in Cuba. American banks, cellphone services, and lifting travel restrictions are the first step. That island is going to change very fast.

Gawd I don’t know how people could use Yahoo Mail in the first place it’s horrible I have never seen a more confusing, clunky, poorly laid out & executed email system in my life! Nothing beats Gmail!

Thank you Larry. I have visited most of the islands in the Caribbean. I found the people warm and inviting. Not with their hands out looking for money either. A real friendship handshake. The want to talk to you and it could take a hour of conversation to appease them. If your sitting in a bar drinking, that time multiples three times. I live in South Florida and Cuba is only a few miles away. Many of my friend are Cuban Americans. Some are born here. Some are not. Opening up relations with the people went over big here. We still have Cubans living here that came ashore during the revolution. Leaving everything behind. Trying to stay alive. Nothing but the clothes on their backs. They have a deep hatred for Castro. I though this ease of relations was going to fire them up. They have never supported any communications with Castro. It didn’t. They are ecstatic. They feel this act has nothing to do with politics or government posturing. The chance to help their families left behind has filled them with joy. Most wont fly back to visit. They are still afraid they wont be allowed to leave. But the simple pleasure of calling your mother or sister on the phone is so over whelming, it knocks then back into their chair. A voice they haven’t heard for unknown years. Only the young braved the task of coming here. The old got left behind.

Excuse me for glogging this blog.

I ran into something that is happening a little to much lately. I have been block from viewing ricequeendiary.com A fav blog from Thailand. I visit it daily, same as this one and others. Recently I had no connection. Problems with a few others too. I have comcast for internet. When I try to access the page, I get a message that the “address no longer exist”. I turn on the openDNS update and my connection is found and the page loads. Seems comcast needs to be add to the list of companies F’n with our lines of commutation.

kudos to the mod of this web page for informing us abut the openDNS service. You don’t always know your being controlled till someone shows you the chains.

Don’t say that Yahoo Mail requires a paying subscription for 7GB, though: It’s free and it’s illimited storage. But I agree, don’t use Yahoo Mail: It’s OK to block spam sites, but for any other type of site, this is pure censorship, such email blocking should be decided by the customer, not by the email service. (On gmail myself.)

My comment wasn’t aimed at/against the Chinese people; and hackers of military or industrial facilities act on political command; they surely don’t have any problems with censorship, believe it? Do you think they need google at all for hacking? That’s not comparable to private internet users like… let’s say … me for example. I don’t know how to trick around any protocols and stuff. China looked up for internet censorship techniques and google stood up and shouted: ME! ME! And they justify theri behaviour with something like: If not us, then somebody else would’ve done it. Doesn’t change anything about the matter that they made themselves a henchman of a terror-regime (I don’t consider them communists, that’s aa abstract terminus technicus with no relation to the real world). Soory no, won’t continue spamming the blog…
