The obvious thing we can’t tell from the video is that there are 16 more fat cops in the cute little clown car. They are stuck. He really got pissed when he went to put the skateboard in the trunk and then realized, the clown car trunk is too small… [comment on YouTube]

That dude, oops I mean cop is fucked up. I especially like the last line as it fades out. “Is that camera on? If I find myself on…..”. On what? You tube? Some gay guys blog?
If you wonder whatever happened to that bully who picked on you in school, he became a cop. That is where most cops in the USA come from, school bullies.

What the fuck is that fat assed cops problem, someone eat the last donut. He totally shoved that cute kid to the ground and “Stole” his board. They should have that video brought to the attention of…………. ahhhhh whats the use stupid cops.

That what makes me sick about cops in the US: they can do whatever they want and nothing will really happend to them.
Talking about being disrespected and shouting to the boy all the time, taking his board and saying his parents haven’t kicked him enough in the ass…..well.. Good idea NOT to visit the US anymore in my life.

yes sadly there are many police officers like this across the world even. Give someone a little bit of authority and they go power hungry, there’s a case of a cop out of control like this in my hometown, a police officer brutily beat a woman and said she fell down when he even did it on camera…that is until he turned the camera off. There’s not much that can be done to these officers either, they are unionized and their union protects them saying they were within the rights of their line of duty and it then becomes a long legal battle that the state or city or county just doesn’t want to put up with or spend the money on

I think Kai is being a little unfair: the US may be far from perfect, but other countries have lousy policemen too - it’s a job which often attracts the wrong kind of person.
Baltimore is no exception: it’s a tough, violent city, and its police department has a bad reputation to go with it. Officer Rivieri’s behaviour is probably not that unusual: as a long-serving cop with a ‘good reputation’ he not only picks on skaters, but on performance artists too - there’s another video of him in action here http://www.abc2news.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=4f8b7c0f-6d4a-47b7-9e9b-569803ea7db8.
Despite this, I think the story of Eric and Officer Rivieri does shed a positive light on the American way: literally millions of people have seen this video clip, and the story was covered on national TV. Read the comments from US citizens on YouTube and the news sites about the behaviour of Officer Rivieri, and they’re almost unanimous in their disgust. Right now he’s been suspended from active duty, and the Mayor is reportedly ‘not best pleased’. There is a history of similar stories of arrogance and bullying leading to major police reforms in LA, New York and other US cities: let’s hope it’s Baltimore’s turn now.

This happened in Baltimore “Charm City”, Maryland, not far from where I live. That cop is suspended without pay pending an investigation. This isn’t the first time he’s done something like this.

Salvatore Rivieri
4 Delight Ave Nottingham, MD 21236-4118

Make sure, if you decide to write or something, to address him properly, i.e., “Dude” “Dear Dude” “Dear Dickface Dude”

I dont know what the cop was yelling at the kids for in the first place, but any Police Department that allows their officers to dress like that and ride around in tiny clown cars deserves their officers to be ridiculed by the public (especially kids!) If they want respect, how about dressing the part!

Thank goodness for that.

Thankyou Tabbs. I was really disturbed seeing this video presented as entertainment. This is a video of straightforward *child abuse*. What makes me sick is that it is so common, in schools as well as in situations like this. Seeing it posted as if it was entertainment really disturbed me. I trust it *wasn’t* posted just as entertainment…

That fat “dude” is a self-absorbed, egomaniacle SOB

It’s just as bad here in UK. We have something called dispersal orders where if ever there are more than two teenagers standing together outdoors (and that includes parks), any adult can call the police who break up the group, and if any of them are seen together again that day, they get arrested. They don’t have to commit any crime at all.
So what you get is hysterical people calling the police complaining that there are teenagers sitting in a park minding there own business, and then the police are legally obliged to send them elsewhere.
I call that bullying, considering only a tiny amount of all crimes are committed by ‘youths’. Most are committed by middle age men, and no-ones picking on them.
Its about time something changed. And that those stupid ‘mosquito’ things are banned.

yeah that was front page @ digg.com last week. that same cop was on the news again this week for abusing ANOTHER person. what a dick.
February 23rd, 2008 at 16:48
well, if Eric and his friends respected the laws and their elders, maybe this might not have happened. On the other hand Officer Rivieri was way out-of-line and should go into hiding.

Dont stick up for that cop. Feel sorry for him and worry about his protection. Obviously that 14 year old kid scared the hell out of him. Bullies always beat up what they fear. He’s got some real issues and he is hiding behind his badge to protect himself. He lacks judgment, discipline, self control, and most of all confidence. His bad language shows immaturity too. If this skater is that much of a threat to his existence he needs to find another place to be. His history of past actions demonstrates all of this very clearly. He doesnt need a badge to stay safe, he needs therapy to better understand that the world isnt out to harm him, especially 14 year kids on skateboards. He’s very lucky that kid wasnt much bigger and smack him upside the head with his board. But then the bully always picks on the smaller guy anyway.

Well I am for Michigan in the US… We have three different Type of cops. The is The Sheriffs, County Police, & Township Police… Non of which drive clown cars like that… LOL
I must say though. The Township Police in my Township are rude as hell. I have Had run ins with them to many times. The most recent one was when my Boyfriend and I were sitting at the Airport Viewing Area and The Cop Came up and was getting rude with me so I got cocked a “Tude” right back at him… I was 17 at that time and he really didn’t scare me with his threats of locking me up because I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong. LOL
But yes it is sad that the People we look to help us Bullies most people because they are the authority..

Considering his inability to grasp the Queen’s language I find his comments about the skaters not being able to speak correctly somewhat amusing.
Fucking uneducated cretin.
